Bike Maintenance: Tips to Keep Your Two Wheeler in Top Shape

“Every day is a good day with a ride”, but surely not the ones when you bike performance is not at its peak. Here are some good old tips to maintain your bike in top shape.

Tire Maintenance:
Check the tire pressure and alignment of your wheels at least once in every week. It is advisable to double-check your tires for any cut-outs and tight spots to avoid any undesirable bursts. Avoid the usage of water to clean the chain sprockets which could result in rusting. Use brush to clean the wheels and rub with paraffin wax. The bike chain should have a proper alignment and free play with the rear wheel.

Transmission system and Clutch Adjustment:
Like most other vehicle parts, clutches also need periodic adjustments and maintenance. Clutch adjustments and regular inspection might avoid undesirable accidents. One of the most important aspects in conserving your transmission system is to manage the lubrication properly, with the use of lubricating oil.

Engine Maintenance:

The most extensive aspect of engine care is to maintain the fluids it requires. Motor oil or engine oil is used for lubrication of the cylinders. Make sure that your engine oil is changed in every 3000 to 5000 kilometres. Lookout for any leakages in your engine cylinders. Replace the fuel filters on a regular basis. Clean the spark plugs, replace if necessary. Check your engine oil on a regular basis.

Battery Maintenance:

Regularly check the level of electrolyte in the battery at service internals, if necessary, top-up your battery with distilled water. Always try and keep the battery terminals clean. Batteries are highly combustible and explosive at few circumstances, so if the battery seems to be heating rapidly, let it breathe.

Brake Maintenance:

Always try and keep the brake fluid cylinders full. An advisable practice to avoid brake failures is to perform regular inspections.

Even though people nowadays are thriving to keep their vehicle in top shape, it is beneficial to register for Two Wheeler insurance online. Most of the bike manufacturers are providing their customers Two-wheeler insurance online.
